It is helpful in extracting teeth with narrow periodontal space, but also in cases of open jaw locks, temporomandibular joint disorders, and jaw resections due to tumors. In jaw surgery, there is less worry about damaging large vessels or nerves during cutting, which reduces the complication rate.
